Collect empower® Logs on macOS Systems

On macOS systems, the empower® Logs can be collected manually. The log files can help in troubleshooting scenarios.

You can either navigate to the logs via the empower® Sync user interface or manually navigate to the paths.

In the empower® Sync user interface, choose the option Logs (Figure 1, “Option Logs in Sync User Interface”).

You will automatically be redirected to the log files.

To access the logs manually, navigate to the following paths to collect the different log files:

  • Client Logs:

    • /Users/[USER NAME]/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/empower/Logs/

  • Installation Logs:

    • /var/log/install.log

    • /var/log/install_empower_pre.log

    • /var/log/install_empower_post.log

Hold down the key Command while selecting all files under the specified paths.

Then, right-click on your selection. A context menu opens.

Here, choose the option Compress.

The created .zip file can now be sent to empower® Support with a subject using the following format:

[Customer Name] – [Topic of the Issue] – [empower Version]
