Collect empower® Version on macOS Systems

In troubleshooting scenarios, your empower® Version can help empower® Support to identify the origin of issues.

Therefore, provide the empower® Version whenever you reach out to empower® Support.

Note

On Windows devices, you can view your empower® Version via the button Help & Settings and the option About empower.

For further information regarding this option, see empower® Help.

On macOS devices, you can view your empower® Version in the application overview.

To do so, follow the following steps:

  1. Start the Finder.

  2. Here, open the tab Go (Figure 1, “Option Applications” (1)).

  3. Choose the option Applications (Figure 1, “Option Applications” (2)).

  1. Search for empower and select the application (Figure 2, “View Version Information” (1)).

  2. Make sure the applications are displayed in columns, so you can see the application information right next to the applications list (Figure 2, “View Version Information” (2)).

  3. Note down the version from the application information on the right-hand side (Figure 2, “View Version Information” (3)).

    The version listed here contains the major and minor version of the software.

    To provide empower with the exact version number which is more specific than the major and minor version, you can perform further steps.

  1. Right-click on the application empower in the applications list on the left-hand side.

    A context menu opens.

  2. In the context menu, choose the option Show Package Contents (Figure 3, “Option Show Package Contents”).

  1. Open the folder Contents (Figure 4, “Open File Info.plist” (1)).

  2. Here, open the file Info.plist in TextEdit (Figure 4, “Open File Info.plist” (2)).

  1. In this file, search for CFBundleVersion.

  2. Note down the number mentioned under this section (Figure 5, “View Detailed Version Information”).

  3. If you contact empower® Support, include this version in your request.

    To do so, add the complementary version number to the major and minor version, e.g. 9.9.0.530.
