Reinstall empower® Slides for macOS

The empower® Sync offers an option to reinstall the add-in on macOS devices.

This option can be used in troubleshooting scenarios. In the empower® Sync, the option is hidden unless you use a specific shortcut.

Important

Only use this function in cooperation with empower® Support.

If empower® Support has not suggested using this function, do not execute it.

To access and use the hidden option, follow the following steps:

  1. Make sure PowerPoint is closed.

  2. Hold the Command key and click on the empower symbol in you task bar at the same time.

    The empower® Sync options open including the hidden option Reinstall addin.

  3. Choose the option Reinstall addin (Figure 1, “Option Reinstall addin).

  4. Then, restart PowerPoint.

  1. In the task bar, click on the tab Tools (Figure 2, “Option PowerPoint Add-ins (1)).

  2. Choose the option PowerPoint Add-ins (Figure 2, “Option PowerPoint Add-ins (2)).

    A dialog box opens.

  1. Check if the checkbox for empower-slides is ticked (Figure 3, “Dialog Box for PowerPoint Add-Ins” (1)).

    If not, tick the checkbox for empower-slides.

  2. Click on the button OK (Figure 3, “Dialog Box for PowerPoint Add-Ins” (2))

  3. Restart PowerPoint.

  4. Then, check if your issues still persist.
