empower installation is not possible due to another empower version

In this article, we would like to explain why empower installation is not possible due to a different empower version, although no further empower version is installed.

This usually occurs if an empower demo was previously installed and an enterprise is now to be installed.


Open the Registry Editor. To do this, click on the Windows Start button and enter the following in the input area of the Windows program bar (at the bottom): "regedit". Open the .exe
Now expand the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" registry folder, then the "Software" subfolder and then the "Made in Office" and "empower" subfolders.
On the right side you will see 4 entries. Now delete the entry with "empower demo" or "demo empower" under the "Data" column.

Now you can install empower enterprise or perform the update.
