empower® Add-in: Slides

In PowerPoint, you can add your preferences for the Office built-in spell check using empower®.

This feature can be helpful if you have slides in different languages because you can set the language for individual slides before executing the Office built-in spell check.

To set your preferences, follow the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the group Finalize and click on the button Check Figure 1, “Button Check.

  1. In the drop-down menu, choose the option Spelling (Figure 2, “Option Spelling).

  1. Here, choose if you want to apply the settings to the whole presentation or to the selected slides (Figure 3, “Dialog Box Spelling Language (1)).

  2. Then, choose the language you want to check (Figure 3, “Dialog Box Spelling Language (2)).

  3. If you want to check each shape for its language, switch the toggle button for Apply Spell Check Language to Every Shape to On (Figure 3, “Dialog Box Spelling Language (3)).

    Only enable this option if there are slides that contain multiple languages.

  4. Click on the button OK (Figure 3, “Dialog Box Spelling Language (4)).

  5. Repeat this process for all slides you want to assign different languages to.

  1. Then, execute the Office built-in spell check.

    To do so, you can either use the key F7 or choose the option Spelling… in the drop-down menu of the button Check (Figure 4, “Option Spelling…).

    The spell check opens on the right hand-side of your PowerPoint window.

During the spell check, the language between the different slides switches automatically according to your settings.
