Whitelist External Authority in Manifest

For some Office Online scenarios, it is required that any domain visited during authentication must be whitelisted in the respective manifest file.

If you use Microsoft Entra ID, you usually do not need to adjust anything.

If you use a custom multi-factor authentication service or another external authority such as Okta, add its domain to the list under <AppDomains> in the manifest file.

The following excerpt provides an example:

<AppDomains>
  ...
  <AppDomain>https://[SUBDOMAIN].[DOMAIN].[TLD]:[PORT]</AppDomain>
</AppDomains>

Note

For further information regarding this configuration, see AppDomain element.

Distribute the empower® Web Components via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center

You can use the following instructions provided by Microsoft to distribute the web components:

Deploy Office Add-ins in the Microsoft 365 admin center

Important

After the add-in distribution, it can take up to 48 hours until the web components become visible for all users.
