Backend Installation Users

Hosting Option: Corporate Cloud

Required Permissions: IT Admin

For the installation of the empower® Backend, you need four users:

  • Installation User

  • Service Host User

  • Database Access User

  • Database Update User

They are required for different purposes.

Installation User

The Installation User needs the administrative permissions on the application server. It is used to execute the empower® Backend Installer.

This user is only required for the installation.

Service Host User

The Service Host User does not have any administrative permissions on the application server. All APIs and the Directory Sync run via this user.

It has access and writing permissions to the file cache. All required permissions for this user are set during the installation.

Database Users

In addition, the Database Access User and the Database Update User are required to access and to update the empower® Database.
