Collect Windows and Microsoft Office version

In troubleshooting scenarios, your Windows and Office versions can help empower® Support to identify the origin of issues.

Therefore, provide the Windows version and the Office version whenever you reach out to empower® Support.

Collect Windows Version

To view your current Windows version, follow the following steps:

  1. Open the Windows settings.

  2. In the settings, navigate to the tab System (Figure 1, “Access Windows Version Information” (1)).

  3. At the bottom of the list, choose the option About (Figure 1, “Access Windows Version Information” (2)).

Under Device Specifications, you can view if you are using a 32-bit or a 64-bit version (Figure 2, “Device Specifications”).

Under Windows Specifications, you can view your current Windows edition and version (Figure 3, “Windows Specifications”).

Collect Office Version

To view your current Office version, follow the following steps:

  1. Open an Office application (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).

    The following instructions refer to the user interface in PowerPoint.

  2. Navigate to the tab File.

  3. Navigate to the tab Account (Figure 4, “Access Version Information in PowerPoint” (1)).

    Here, you can already view the activated product (Figure 4, “Access Version Information in PowerPoint” (2)).

  4. Click on the button About PowerPoint (Figure 4, “Access Version Information in PowerPoint” (3)).

    A dialog box opens.

In this dialog box, you can view more specific information about your Office version (Figure 5, “PowerPoint Version Information”).

Here, you can also see if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit version.
