Infrastructural Requirements
Only the new Outlook client for Windows is supported for empower® Mails Online. The prerequisite for this is that WebView2 is installed. This is the case by default in the following Windows 11 versions:
- Windows 11 + Office Version: Microsoft 365 Version >= 16.0.13530.20424
- Perpetual versions of Office on Windows
- Windows 11 + Office 2021 + Retail & Volume-licensed
- Windows 11 + Office 2019 + Retail only
- Windows 11 + Office 2016 + Retail only
Windows 10 is also supported. A manual installation of WebView2 might be required.

*WebView2 is installed with Windows 11 or Office 2021. In other cases, it must be installed separately.
Supported Browsers & Outlook Clients
The following browsers are supported for empower® Mails Online:
- macOS: Safari
- Windows: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge
Please always use the latest version of your browser and install updates regularly.
The following Outlook clients are supported for empower® Mails Online (for using Mails in desktop app):
- macOS: New Outlook Client from Version 16.38.506
- Windows: New Outlook Client only (Classic Client not supported)*
*To ensure smooth parallel operation between Mails and Mails Online, the desktop client for Mails should not be used with the New Outlook Client
Requirements for empower® Users
Requirements for user/empower® environment:
- At least one existing signature template in the empower® Mails library
- Users must have read rights to at least one company with a location
Requirements for administrators:
- Access to empower® via empower® Mails Desktop Client for Windows
