New Features & Improvements
Suite
- Sync Queueing: The backend now has a mechanism to cooperatively prioritize and schedule synchronization requests from clients to reduce load and blocking when many clients try to synchronize data from the backend (e.g., after an update).
- Industry-standard authentication management: As part of our Secure Software Development Lifecycle, the user login component Identity Server 6 has been updated to the latest version so that empower® continues to meet the highest possible IT security standards. In the same course, the login workflow has been updated to the latest version.
Suite (Windows)
- Terminal Server Support: We introduce a special mode for running empower® in terminal server environments (e.g., Citrix, etc.). In this mode, communication, caching and (local) data storage strategies are optimized for terminal server environments and roaming profiles.
Suite (Web)
- Permission management: Permission management in the Web Library has been revised and now also supports the management of inherited permissions.
- Search service: The performance of the search service and the stability of the search indexer have been significantly improved.
PowerPoint (macOS)
- SharePoint Integration: Presentation/slide libraries in SharePoint can now be integrated directly into the empower® library to search within PowerPoint presentations, preview results, open presentations directly, or insert individual slides from those presentations without leaving PowerPoint/empower®.
- Support for Conditional Access: Support for user login to empower® via Azure Active Directory with the conditional access feature enabled. This ensures that only client devices that are authenticated by Azure Active Directory can connect to empower®.
- Bynder Integration: The Bynder integration plug-in is now included in the general installer package.
Word (Windows)
- Tags for Library Elements: empower® Docs elements in the library can be tagged (like elements in empower® Slides), making it even easier to find thematically relevant content.
