Resolve Display and Blank Side Pane Issues

Sometimes users experience a blank side Pane or moving elements.

These are display errors that can be fixed by changing some configuration settings in Office.

To adjust the settings, follow the following steps:

  1. In PowerPoint, navigate to the tab File.

  2. Choose the section Options (Figure 1, “Open Options”).

  1. Under General and User Interface options, choose the option Optimize for Compatibility (Figure 2, “Change User Interface Preferences” (1)).

  2. Click on the button OK (Figure 2, “Change User Interface Preferences” (2)).

  3. Close PowerPoint.

  1. Right-click on your desktop.

    A context menu opens.

  2. Choose the option Display settings (Figure 3, “Open Display Settings”).

  1. Under Scale and layout, make sure you use the recommended settings (Figure 4, “Use Recommended Settings”).

  2. If the issue persists, disconnect all external monitors.
