Firstly, please stop the empower Sync application, by clicking on the empower Icon in the top right corner of your macOS menu bar.
In case you cannot close the Application, please open the Activity Monitor, which you can find in the Utilities folder. Here you'll get an overview of all active processes. In this list, search for the empower Sync process, select the process and press the red icon at the top left of the window (Quit Process). Confirm the following security question whether the process should really be terminated with Quit or Force Quit.
Next, please go into the Keychain Access and delete the com.madeinoffice.empower.sync entry from the keychain, as follows:
- Open the Keychain Management / Keychain Access application (e.g. via Spotlight search)
- Press on All Items and search for the com.madeinoffice.empower.sync keyword
- Right click on the token and delete the element
- There are some cases in which tokens cannot be deleted (i.e. currently a bug in macOS Monterey) from the Keychain - In this case, please proceed as follows:
a. Double click on the token
b. Rename the token with some dummy name (e.g. test)
c. Then go to the Access Control tab
d. If empower is listed in the table, select the empower app and press on the minus button, in order to remove the application. After that press on Save Changes
Now restart empower.
