Runtime Error with User-Defined Surface in empower® Slides for macOS

If you receive an error message about a runtime error caused by the user-defined surface in empower^®, this error is not caused by empower^® itself.

The error message is displayed in a dialog box.

To solve the issue, you need to disable the setting Show add-in user interface errors for PowerPoint.

To do so, open the tab PowerPoint in the upper left corner of you screen (Figure 1, “Option Preferences” (1)).

Then, choose the option Preferences (Figure 1, “Option Preferences” (2)).

A dialog box opens.

In this dialog box, open the section General.

Here, untick the checkbox for Show add-in user interface errors under Settings (Figure 2, “Checkbox for Setting”).

Restart PowerPoint afterwards, The issue should now be resolved.
