How do I get the empower client/sync/backend version?

empower® client version

There are two ways to get the current empower® backend/client version.

  1.  Press start and open the explorer. Copy this path and paste it into your explorer.
    %localappdata%\Made in Office\empower\Logs
  2. If a have a newer version of empower®, please copy the following path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\empower\Logs           
  3. Navigate to slides > Addins.

    Right click on the log file with the most recent date.

    Open the log file with the Notepad.

    In the first line you can find your empower® client version

     
  4.  Open PowePoint und choose Help in the empower® ribbon.

Select about empower® and you will receive a window with all the information about the client version.

empower® Sync Version

  1.  Press start and open the explorer. Copy this path and paste it into your explorer.
    %localappdata%\Made in Office\empower\Logs
  2. If a have a newer version of empower®, please copy the following path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\empower\Logs 
  3. Navigate to the Sync folder.
    Right click on the log file with the most recent date.

  4. Open PowerPoint. Right click on the empower® Sync icon in the taskbar.
    Click the cogwheel and take the information about the empower® Sync out.

empower® backend version

The backend version is in the log files from the backend. Depending on which version you have, there are other paths you can copy and paste into the explorer to get the logs. 

  • %Program Files (x86)%\Made in Office\empower backend\EmpowerServiceGuard\Logs
  • %ProgramData%\Made in Office\empower backend\empower\temp\Logs
  • %ProgramData%\empower backend\empower\temp\Logs
